Asset Correlations

PortfolioVisualizer's Asset Correlations covers US-listed assets only, so anything held on another exchange cannot be put beside them. Here you can compare stocks, ETFs and futures from the 13 markets below, and cryptocurrencies, in one view — Samsung against TSMC, Bitcoin against SPY, across markets.

Enter 2 to 50 tickers and you get Pearson correlations on total returns, dividends included. On a daily basis only sessions every selected asset actually traded are used — carrying yesterday's close through another market's holiday would post a zero return for that day and pull the correlation below what it really was. A cryptocurrency trades every day, so when one is picked beside a stock the daily basis still follows the exchange calendar — otherwise every stock would look like it had a hole in it each weekend. Weekly, monthly and annual take each asset's last close in the period. The week is cut at Friday: cut at Sunday and a coin would be read at its Sunday close while a stock is still read at its Friday one, putting the two two days out of step every week. Every price is converted to USD, so the exchange-rate move is part of the return the way a dollar-based investor actually experiences it.

Tickers work in any notationGC=F or GC1!, 005930.KS or KRX:005930, or just the number (7203). Symbols copied from TradingView paste in as they are (NASDAQ:AAPL, TSE:7203). Coins too: BTC-USD, BTCUSD, BINANCE:BTCUSDT and KRW-BTC all find the same coin.
